The reactions of triaryl phosphites with halogens have been investigated less extensively. The reaction of an aryl ester such as triphenyl phosphite with chlorine or bromine has been reported to yield the dichloride,(C~ &, O)~ PC~ Z, or dibromide,(C&0) 3PBr2, respectively.
