Conclusions It appears that the only nucleophilic oxidation observed in this study is the oxidation of sulfoxides with mchloroperbenzoate anion. Therefore, even the Mo (V1)-peroxo anions formed in basic media oxidize the model sulfoxides via an electrophilic oxygen transfer, though less efficiently than the corresponding neutral species.
