Abstract: The chemical shifts of the methyl protons of methylarenes, the methylene protons of ethylarenes, and methine protons of isopropylarena have been determined in dilute solution of carbon tetrachloride at 34”. The aryl groups employed were phenyl, 1-naphthyl, 2- naphthyl, 1-anthryl, 2-anthryl, 2-phenanthryl, 3-phenanthryl, and 9-phenanthryl.
