Abstract

Reaction of Nj-benzoyl-1-[3, 5-0-(tetraisopropyldisiloxan-1, 3-diyl)-~-~-ribofuranosyl] thymine (4a) with diphenyl phosphorazidate, diethyl azodicarboxylate, and triphenylphosphine in tetrahydrofuran afforded Nj-benzoyl-1-[2-azido-2-deoxy-3, 5-0-( tetraisopropyldisiloxan-1, 3-diyl)-~-~-arabinofuranosy1] thymine (5a) in good yield.
