Summary Triphenylsilyl chloride was treated with urea and with sodium urethan to form triphenylsilyl isocyanate. When thiourea, lead isothiocyanate, and ammonium isothiocyanate, respectively, were used, triphenylsilyl isothiocyanate resulted.
