(13) Vinyldimethylsulfonium perchlorate has been claimed as a by-product from the reaction of ethylene chlorohydrin, dimethyl sulfide and mercuric chloride at 80'for 100 hr. but the assignment of structure rests only on an unsatisfactory analysis [RA Hofmann, IC.
