Abstract

Arylboronic acids having a remote azido group were prepared from the corresponding azidosubstituted aryl bromides via lithiation and treatment with trialkyl borates. Preparative yields were achieved when the starting aryl bromides possessed ortho-alkoxy groups, which would stabilize the intermediate aryllithium species.
