After the oxidation of A5-androsten-17P-ol-3-one 17-acetate% ethylene ketal (I) 3 with t-butyl chromate, the starting material I and an cu, p-unsaturated ketone I1 with a high ultraviolet absorption maximum (log 4.1) at 241 mp were isolated.
