Abstract

Approximately 4600 microorganisms isolated from soil and 110 bacteria from stock cultures were screened for their ability to hydroxylate 3-cyanopyridine (3-CP). Many strains were found to be capable of hydroxylating 3-CP. One of the strains with the highest activity was selected and identified as Comamonas testosteroni (MCI 2848).
