Abstract

In connection with a general study of electronic effects in elimination reactions, lb we were led to an investigation of the electronic effects in the Ez reaction, both because of the interest in the reaction for its own sake2 and because such a study would serve as a reference for our investigation in the similar 1, 3-diphenylpropyl system.
