Abstract: A variety of pentaoxyphosphoranes have been prepared by allowing trisubstituted phosphites to react with diethyl peroxide. In one case the same pentaoxyphosphorane was prepared by condensation of p-naphthoquinone and triethyl phoshite and by reaction of the phosphite, 3, with diethyl peroxide.
