Abstract

Results 4-Phenyl-1-butene was obtained from commercial sources. The naphthyl (2) and phenanthryl (3) substrates were obtained by Grignard coupling reactions. Both were initially prepared, isolated, and characterized as products of the coupling between the appropriate arylmagnesium bromide and 4-bromo-1-butene.
