Abstract

Conclusions The changes in the heats of tautomerization of acetylacetone in decalin, tetrachloroethylene and bromoform may be interpreted in terms of the Onsager-Kirkwood model of electrostatic interaction, using the volume of the solvent molecule for the “cavity.” The gas value of the heat of tautomerization niay be obtained to a fair degree of accuracy from the dilute solution values.
