Abstract 2, 6-Dibromopyridine N-oxide and 4-nitro-2, 6-dibromopyridine N-oxide were treated with tributyl (pyridin-2-yl) stannane under the conditions of the Stille coupling reaction. Derivatives of 2, 2′-bipyridine 1-oxides as well as 2, 2′: 6′, 2′′-terpyridine 1′-oxides were synthesised.
