Abstract

The ultraviolet spectrum of gaseous H&Oa shows continuous absorption starting at about 2500. A and extending to shorter wavelengths. The compound photochemically decomposes to yield B, Oz (s) and HP (g) and reacts with BzHs to yield boroxine (H&03). Rates of the photochemical reactions are much higher than those observed for the thermal reactions and are accelerated by mercury photosensitization. Information on the ...
