Abstract

L1 with sodium nitrite in 10% sulfuric acid, followed by hydrolysis of the resulting products, gave the respective hydroxy compounds 6 and 7. Treatment of 6 and 7 with 30% hydrogen peroxide in glacial acetic acid produced the N-oxides 8 and 9, which were then refluxed with acetic anhydride to give the acetates 10 and 11.
