Abstract 2, 3-Diaryl-substituted maleic anhydrides were prepared by a modified one-pot synthesis of Perkin condensation using mixed sodium salts of arylglyoxylic acid and arylacetic acid with acetic anhydride in 1, 4-dioxane.
