Abstract

Zusammenfassung Aryl-and alkylphosphines R 3 P, R 2 PF, R 2 PCl, and RPCl 2 are oxidized by IF 5 to the corresponding fluorophosphoranes in a fast one step-reaction at or below 0 C. The only co-product is elemental iodine. IF 3 or IF as reduction products of IF 5 are not observed. Fission of P C-bonds by< IF& from I 2 and IF 5 is negligible under reaction conditions.
