Treatment of phenyl areneselenosulplonates () with terminal acetylenes resulted in the formation of-(phenylseleno) vinyl sulphones (), which on treatment with excess of hydrogen peroxide in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature gave acetylenic sulphones () in good yields.
