Abstract

In this regard we have shown in a previous study that 2-phenylselenenyl enones undergo 2, 3-dialkylations in high overall yields and that the resulting 2-phenylselenenyl ketones are versatile species which can be selectively converted into a number of different ketones and en one^.^ In this paper we report on the application of this methodology to the synthesis of 1 and 2. Our approach to the synthesis of dihydrojasmone (2) is illustrated in Scheme I. ...
