Tris-1, 2, 3-p-nitrophenylcyclopropene has been synthesized from the tosylhydrazone of an enone, and examined as a precursor of the corresponding cyclopropenyl anion. A precursor of the related trimethylsilylcyclopropene has also been prepared by a series of palladium- catalyzed reactions.
