Abstract: The coupling reactions of a wide variety of lithium diorganocuprates (1) with primary tosylates have been found to proceed in high yield (70-1OOP;: isolated). Because of competition of elimination reactions, secondary tosylates gave lower yields (10-75%) of substitution products.
