Summary By interaction with potassium cyanide and ammonium carbonate, five-alkyl 2- anilino-2-phenylethyl ketones were converted into 5-alkyl-5-styrylhydantoins with elimination of aniline. 2. Two new 5-branched alkyl-5-phenylethylhydantoins have been prepared by catalytic hydrogenation of the corresponding styryl compounds.
