Abstract

The condensation of N-alkylhydroxylamines with photolytically monomerized nitrosoalkanes yields mixtures of 0-position isomers of 2 azoxyalkanes 5a-g and 6c-g in-30-95% yields. The major isomer is that one with the less bulky N substituent syn to the oxygen atom of the azoxy group.
