Abstract

Organoosmium (V1) complexes of PMe3, PPh3, and Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2 (dppe) have been prepared and characterized. Unlike inorganic complexes of nitridoosmium (VI), the alkyl complexes are not reduced by basic phosphines. The reactions of [NBud][Os (N)(CHzSiMe3) 4] with HBF4 in the presence of either PMe3 or PPh3 produces Os (N)(CH2- SiMe& (PR3). The addition of either PMe3 or dppe to [NBud][Os (N)(CH2SiMe3) 2C12] ...
