Abstract An efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 4-substituted 2, 6- bis (fluoroalkyl)-2, 6-dihydroxytetrahydro-2 H-pyran-3, 5-dicarboxylates by reactions of aldehydes with fluorine-containing β-oxo esters in heterogeneous catalytic system 1-butyl-3- methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [bmim][BF 4]-K 2 CO 3 activated by ultrasound. The system retains its catalytic activity for three reaction cycles.
