Abstract: Poly Asp (OCHa)-Ser (H)-Gly and poly Asp (0H)-Ser (Ac)-Gly have been prepared from the corresponding tripeptide p-nitrophenyl ester hydrobromides with molecular weights from 3000 to 11,000. The sequence Asp-Ser-Gly occurs at the active site of several hydrolytic enzymes and the acetylated polymer is a model of the acylated enzymes which are intermediates in the hydrolysis process.
