Abstract

Phenylsulfonyl isocyanate (I) and p-toluenesulfonyl isocyanate (11) reacted with triphenylmethanol and with triphenylmethanols containing phenyl, methyl, methoxyl, and chloro ring substituents to afford N-(triarylmethy1) sulfonamides (111) and carbon dioxide. p, p', p"-Trinitrotriphenylmethanol (V) and I1 gave p, p', p"-trinitrotriphenylmethyl p- tolylsulfonylurethan (VI).
