Hydrolysis of the siloxycrotonate by lo (r, hydrochloric acid gave acetone and hexaethyldisiloxane. Reaction of the siloxycrotonate with acetyl chloride yielded triethylsilyl chloride and ethyl P-acetoxycrotonate.
