Abstract

Abstract Radical cotelomerization of vinylic ethers VE (butyl vinyl ether and 2-acetoxy ethyl vinyl ether) with chlorotrifluoroethylene and mercaptans (2-hydroxy ethyl mercaptan and C 6 F 13 C 2 H 4 SH) are studied. The homo-telomerization of vinylic ethers with these thiols and CCl 3 CH 2 OH leads to complex mixtures including acetals obtained by addition of the VE to hydroxy groups after telomerization of the thiol with the vinyl ether.
