Abstract

Interest in 3-n-heptyl-'i-methoxy-2-methyl-quinolinoi (I)(SN-13,421) as a potential antimalarial drug was evoked when intelligence investigators in Germany reported that this substance, known as Endochin, had been found to exhibit prophylactic and trophozoiticidal activity in infected canaries and gametocidal activity in finches infected with Hemoproteus.
