Abstract

Hydrogenation of Trimesic Acid.-A slurry of trimesic acid (three parts) in water (five parts) was hydrogenated at 150'and 15OOpsig using as catalyst 5% palladium on carbon in the amount of 5% based on trimesic acid. Hydrogen uptake ceased in 3 hr. Catalyst was filtered from the otherwise homogeneous product.
