Abstract

The synthesis of 4-guanidinomethylquinoline (Ia, R= ii) and 4-(N~-phenylamidino) quinoline (IIa and b, R= H) was also of interest to us in view of the fact that 2-guanidinomethy!-quino! ine, synthesized and studied by us previously 13], in the form of various water-soluble salts possessed some sympatholytic properties, although it was less active than the drug octadine.
