Abstract

Abstract A versatile carbene-catalysed oxidation protocol involving N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts and 2, 2, 6, 6-tetramethylpiperidine N-oxyl (TEMPO) is described for the synthesis of esters, cinnamic acids, and thioesters.
