Abstract

Conclusions. Polymeric thin films can be made from porphyrin monomers by the technique of interfacial polymerization. The method leads to a novel structural asymmetry in that opposite surfaces of the films have different concentrations of unreacted functional groups. The surface asymmetry was demonstrated by XPS studies of metalloporphyrin films and by contact angle titrations with aqueous buffers. The films also display a photochemical ...
