Abstract

H, CH3) and CC12= C-CH2Cl (Y= F, C1, CH3). The introduction of two methyl groups on the gamma carbon atom increases the reactivities of the allylic chlorine atom in both reactions. Since the methyl group is electron releasing, it was desirable to determine the effect of electron attracting groups in this position.
