Abstract

A synthetic approach to tricyclo [5.5. 0.04 J0] dodeca-2, 5, 8, 11-tetraene (1) by Cope rearrangement of cis-divinylcyclopropane precursors failed. Several derivatives of tricyclo [5.4. O. O2J1] undeca-3, 5, 9-triene(4b, 21, 27, 28 and 29) were prepaired as potential substrates for Cope rearrangement.
