Abstract

Four novel tetrahydroquinoline dyes by inserting isophorone and/or thiophene moieties as π bridge between the electron donating unit of substituted tetrahydroquinoline and the electron withdrawing unit of cyano carboxylic acid have been synthesized and successfully applied to dye-sensitized solar cells.
