Abstract Hexaphenylbenzene derivatives bearing two aldehyde groups were prepared by reaction of 4, 4′-(ethyne-1, 2-diyl) dibenzaldehyde with bisarylalkynes in the presence of a catalytic amount of Co 2 (CO) 8.
