Abstract

To 2.15 g. of the amine was added 0.5 g. of sodium nitrite, 3.5 cc. of concd. sulfuric acid and 10 cc. of ethyl alcohol. After refluxing for half an hour and evaporating the alcohol, the residue was steam distilled. One and five-tenths g. of a white crystalline substance was obtained from the distillate on cooling.
