We have previously described3 a new method for the preparation of urea by the reaction of sulfur, carbon monoxide, and ammonia at temperatures of about 100". The present paper shows that this reaction is widely applicable to aliphatic amines, and high yields of 1, 3- disubstituted ureas are obtained.
