Abstract: A fast, highly efficient and green protocol for the Michael addition of active methylene compounds to styrylisoxazoles at room temperature has been investigated using task-specific basic ionic liquid, 3-butyl-1-methyl imidazolium hydroxide,[bmIm] OH, as a catalyst and green reaction medium.
