A novel method for the synthesis of triphenylphosphonium salts of the type (CsH5) 3P+(CH2) nC0zH, X-(1: n= 2, 3; X= C1; n= 5, 10, ll; X= Br) from the corresponding w- haloalkylcarboxylic acids and triphenylphosphine has been described.
