Abstract Chloromethyldimethylchlorosilane reacts with H 2 S under mild conditions to give 1.3-bis (chloromethyl) tetramethyldisilthiane. The chlorine-carbon bonds of the latter compound as well as of the corresponding disilazane and germasilazane undergo further reaction with Na 2 S forming silicon-containing heterocycles. In other reactions, H 2 S was found to react also with the Si-X-Si bonds.
