Abstract The addition of organometallic compounds to SCHIFF bases, hydrazones, and oximes was studied. It is shown that, contrary to statements in the literature, hydra-zones and oximes may give rise to the same type of C-alkylation and C-arylation as already known for S CHIFF bases.
