Abstract

Fluoroformic acid anhydride is formed by reacting gaseous FC (O) OOC (O) F with CO. In the gas phase, the main conformer exhibits synperiplanar C 2 symmetry, which is the only conformer in the solid state. In the gas phase and in the crystal, the structural parameters are nearly identical.
