Abstract: The nmr spectra of 2-methylbutylmagnesium bromide and bis (2-methylbuty1) magnesium have been determined as a function of temperature in several ethers. At-30" the CHzMg hydrogens are magnetically nonequivalent and give rise to the AB portion of an ABX spectrum. With increasing temperature this pattern progressively collapses to Az of A2X.
