Abstract

The addition of carbonyl fluoride to fluoroolefins in the presence of a fluoride ion catalyst and a polar non-protonic solvent to form fluoroacyl fluorides has been reported.'In some further studies, this reaction has beeii extended to the preparation of a family of fluoroketones containing the perfluoroisopropyl group by reaction of hexafluoropropene (HFP) with various fluoroacyl fluorides.
