Abstract

Treatment of [RuCI~(DMSO)~] with tripod [tripod= MeC (CH2EPh2),, E= P (triphos) or As (triars)] yields [Ru,(p-Cl),-(tripod),] CI. In the case of triars the mononuclear intermediate [RuCI2 (DMSO)(triars)] can be isolated. This condenses to the corresponding trichloro- bridged complex in MeOH. The chloride ligands of [R~~(p-Cl),(tripod)~] CI can be abstracted by AgCF, SO, in MeCN to yield [R~(MeCN),(tripod)](CF, S0,)~. When the chloride ...
