Abstract

Trifluoromethylketones of aromatics, heteroaromatics and olefins are formed selectively from reactions of trifluoromethylsilver and the corresponding carboxylic acid chlorides in moderate to excellent yields. The conditions chosen are dependent on the nature of the acyl chloride.
